Take a look (still using streamyx at home, doably okay).
streamyx speedtest, no so far off from Wimax... and within reach..
See on the left what the P1 guys showed me on the Picom Kuala Lumpur PC fair while using www.speedtest.net. big picture here.
Now back to reality of my home usage. I am currently using a combination of Izzi Mobile broadband (connected to the same network) and streamyx as backup-line. I went to the PC fair earlier this week, P1 has a nice solution for Wimax in Kuala Lumpur, but they stated on their booth that the solution is not commercially available yet (which makes me wonder why they are there, followed by the answer that they are there to create awareness). It seemed like they are looking for testers.
But in my case, I live higher than the 10th floor, I won't be able to get any Wimax. Arf... And their USB-Wimax-modem is not available also...
I did see on a test-machine of one of the P1 presenter speeds of over 2000kbps/600kbps. But it remains waiting, waiting, waiting till I see the thing working on my desk. The people who will win in this market are those who can deliver the bandwidth at an affordable price.
The Internet Access Providers who can solve the problem as described below will win victoriously :
