The Skyptopus.

Skype once said that they like funny things. Well here is one. Of course humour varies from culture to culture. What is funny for a Belgian might not be funny for an Estonian and certainly might be wrongly interpreted by a Japanese, Chinese or Asian person. This is exactly what Skype is about. Bringing cultures together so they can talk and understand each-other (culture and language). It is not about business only (not even for Ebay). «The world can talk for free» and «sharing is good» are human goals not business-goals. But then again… Business as usual. Right ? «Let’s move on». If there is no communication (verbally,  visually) misunderstandings cannot even be addressed.

And here is the fun. Skypejournal has just invented the Skypepotamus (nice one Phil !). I would have called it the Skyppopotamus. Referring to the Hippopotamus. You do know that hippos kill more people each year than lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes and rhinos ? (Smithsonian Magazine). I guess comparing Skype to a Hippo is right since it has been terrorizing the Telecoms more than anything else. Wether that is a good thing or bad thing depends enterily from your perspective and if you are pray or not. Currently in the telecom savannah Skype is defenitely a hunter. Eating every PSTN phone along the way. Hyena or Lion ? I would say Lion because they are definetely not scavenging on dead pray.
